Late Summer

Completed this painting today as an attempt to play up the strong contrasts in the trees and sky, looking from the shaded side. After working on a commission for several days, this was a nice 2 hour break.

Show Invite

Postcard for Exhibition

Three Person Exhibition. We finished hanging the show today and the opening is set for Friday night. The show will be up through June. The theme was: ACT 3. We wanted to show what three men can do after we leave those nasty old day jobs. Now, the only IRAs we invest in is (Individual Retirement Art)

Sunset On the Wabash

Oil
30'x40"

This is the final painting from the Wabash River series. Interesting to work in larger formats. This was a 30"x40" canvas and as usual, the painting takes on a life of its own in the painting process. I went with brighter colors that the previous two works. The feedback I got in my studio was positive, so I decided to enter it as one of my two entries in the Hoosier Salon. Whoops...wrong choice. It was rejected. Bummer, but that is the way juried shows go...completely subjective. Oh well, I'll try again next year. I had been pretty lucky anyway, winning awards in the last three shows.
