I painted in Madison for 2 days and followed other painters to an area East of Madison along the Ohio River to find this fantastic site to paint. Three huge tugboats pulled out of the river years ago to their final resting place. They stood high rusting in the weeds, but with a grand dignity above the junk spread around the area.

I always enjoy seeing artists in action and your finished painting is beautiful. Was this finished in one sitting or did you complete it later in your studio? I have some beautiful photos of shrimp boats docked in Delcambre, LA, scared to death to tackle them with the boat's architecture and saltwater rust.
Thanks Angela...This was completed in one plein air session. We painted for about 2.5 hours and came back for another hour after a quick lunch. Notice in the photo, which was in early afternoon, the sun was on the left side of the tugs. When I started my color notes, the sun was on the right side.
