Michigan Shapes of Autumn

Oil
24"x36"
SOLD

Last month I was in Midland Michigan teaching a workshop and managed to take some photographs of their beautiful Autumn colors. Outside of town, shooting back East with the morning light coming through, I could see the darkened uprights and branches with the negative shapes of leaves and sky. It looked like a stain glass window. I didn't realize it was going to be this abstract untill I started painting and started to see the geometry of the colors and shapes.
