Indiana Sycamores

Oil on Linen

This painting was influenced by the colors of the Autumn Sycamores in Indiana. Near the White River, years ago, when they were growing in wooded areas they grew tall before ever branching out. After scrub trees were cleared and homes built, many still stand together as sculptures. As sycamores grew further away from the river, they took on different shapes and still had the wonderful palette of colors covering the bone white limbs and branches.
